
Charter Oak had a drive in the fourth quarter that saw them in the red zone and ready to extend their
17-14 lead over Chino Hills. However, the pass from sophomore starting quarterback Corin Berry was intercepted by the Huskies Tyrese Boss who ran the ball back 100 yards for the pick 6 and gave Chino Hills the only lead it needed in the game 21-17 with 6:05 left in the game.
The Huskies held onto the lead thanks to another pass from Berry that was intercepted by Boss to stop the Chargers late fourth quarter drive.
Charter Oak started the game on the board first as Chino Hills won the coin toss and elected to receive the ball to start the game.
The Huskies fumbled the kick-off return and the Chargers Sean Munoz recovered the ball. Munoz took the ball into the end zone for the touchdown. This gave Charter Oak the 7-0 lead early in the opening seconds of the first quarter.
Charter Oak had a 17-7 lead at halftime, but were unable to hold onto it as the Huskies rallied in the fourth quarter.
Boss had two touchdowns and two interceptions in the game.
Chino Hills record is 1-1 and will travel to Riverside to play JW North.
Charter Oak with a record of 1-1 will play Glendora at Citrus College.
