In a playoff spectacle at Don Lugo High School, Coachella Valley and Don Lugo engaged in an offensive juggernaut, tallying almost 1,300 yards. The Mighty Arabs, powered by Aaron Ramirez’s outstanding show with 407 rushing yards and four touchdowns, clinched a 52-35 victory.

Despite expectations for offensive fireworks, Coachella Valley only led 3-0 after the first quarter. Ramirez’s game-changing plays, including a 41-yard touchdown reception, solidified Coachella Valley’s hold on the game. 

The matchup featured standout moments, such as Don Lugo’s Noah Peck’s 85-yard touchdown, narrowing the deficit.

Ramirez’s rare fumble briefly gave Don Lugo the lead, but the Mighty Arabs, resilient, regained control. Ramirez’s 83-yard and 1-yard touchdown runs ultimately sealed Coachella Valley’s triumph, amassing an impressive 764 total offensive yards.

Quarterback Derek Calderon orchestrated the Mighty Arabs’ attack, completing 15 of 26 passes for 256 yards. 

Meanwhile, Don Lugo showcased commendable effort, with quarterback Kalib Pacheco completing 21 of 35 passes for 375 yards.

The Conquistadores, accumulating 528 yards of offense, boasted notable performances, including Peck (115 yards), Curlee Kirkpatrick (107 yards), and Gavin Hrynezuk (104 yards). Boe Canty’s 133 yards on 16 carries added to Don Lugo’s offensive prowess.

However, Ramirez’s dominant performance proved decisive in this thrilling Division 12 quarterfinal clash.
