The Etiwanda Eagles showcased their dominance as they faced off against Chino Hills in their first Baseline League game. With a remarkable overall record of 15 wins and 1 loss, the Eagles were determined to make their mark in league play.

Last week Etiwanda had a tough loss to Dixie High School during the Classic at Damien tournament, but Etiwanda swiftly rebounded with a three-game win streak leading up to the game with Chino Hills.

The first quarter saw both teams exchanging blows, with Chino Hills tying the game at 15-15. Yet, Etiwanda’s resilience shone through as Christian Harris sank a crucial shot, allowing the Eagles to end the quarter with a 17-15 lead. The momentum continued into the second quarter, where Etiwanda had a remarkable 18-5 scoring run. By halftime, the Eagles had established a commanding 35-20 lead.

Chino Hills, led by Joaquin Tovera, fought valiantly, but Etiwanda’s early lead proved insurmountable. Booker, finishing the game as the leading scorer with 14 points, showcased his prowess on the court. The final score reflected the Eagles’ dominance, sealing the victory at 80-51.

With this impressive win, Etiwanda not only secured their first triumph in league play but also improved their overall record to an outstanding 15-1. Chino Hills, despite the loss, maintains a respectable record of 13 wins and 6 losses.

Looking ahead, Etiwanda’s next challenge awaits on Saturday, January 6th, as they face West Ranch at 8:30 pm. Meanwhile, Chino Hills seeks redemption against Damien on Tuesday, January 9th, at 6:30 pm. Basketball enthusiasts can expect more heart-pounding action as these teams continue their pursuit of victory in the thrilling world of high school basketball.
