The anticipation for the CIF Southern Section-Ford Softball Championships is reaching a fever pitch as the division brackets have been officially unveiled. With 243 teams vying for glory, the stage is set for an electrifying showdown on the diamond.
The playoffs will feature an eight-divisional format, promising thrills, spills, and unforgettable moments as teams battle it out for supremacy. From wild-card rounds to first-round matchups, every game promises to be a showcase of talent, determination, and sheer passion for the sport.
The single-elimination tournaments will open on Tuesday, April 30 with wild-card round contests where necessary, followed by first-round games in all divisions on Thursday, May 2.
In Division One, all eyes will be on the Chino Hills Huskies as they prepare to face Moorpark in a wild-card clash. The Huskies (8-2 league) finished tied for first place in the Baseline league, and they are poised to make a deep run in the tournament. Meanwhile, the Ayala Bulldogs, fresh off their Palomares League triumph, will kick off their campaign against Sunny Hills. The Bulldogs (20-4 overall, 14-1 league) will face a tough challenge from Sunny Hills (11-9 overall, 7-3 league), but they are eager to prove themselves as worthy contenders for the championship title.
Over in Division Four, the Don Lugo Conquistadors will look to continue their dominance as they square off against the Diamond Bar Brahmas. The Conquistadors (19-2 overall, 15-0 league) boast an impressive league record and are primed for success, but they’ll face stiff competition from a determined Brahmas side (12-9 overall, 6-4 league).
And let’s not forget about the Chino Cowboys, who are set to host Chaminade in what promises to be a thrilling matchup. The Cowboys (14-2 overall) finished in second place in the Mt. Baldy league and are hungry for victory against Chaminade (10-10 overall), who finished third in the Mission League.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. With teams from across the region competing in various divisions, there’s no shortage of intriguing matchups to look forward to.
