The Chino Cowboys girls basketball team ended their regular season, defeating the Ontario Jaguars 58-36 on Thursday night. The victory secured a perfect 10-0 record in Mt. Baldy League play and the 2025 league championship. Chino now stands at 20-5 overall as they head into the CIF-SS playoffs.

Senior guard Natalia Becerra led the charge, scoring a game-high 17 points. The Cowboys started strong, jumping out to an 18-10 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Ontario fought back in the second quarter, but Chino held firm. Tess Oldenburg contributed 11 points, including a three-pointer, helping the Cowboys maintain a slim 30-28 lead at halftime.

After the break, Chino’s defense took over. The Cowboys held the Jaguars to just four points in the third quarter while adding 22 of their own. London Gibbs fueled the surge, scoring 10 points in the game. Zyha Hollyfield and Samantha Cantos each chipped in six points as Chino pulled away, leading 52-26 heading into the final quarter.

Chino closed the game with solid contributions from Sophie Gamboa, who finished with four points, while Jaqueline Delgado and Chelsea Mulcahy added two points each.

With the regular season complete, the Cowboys now await their playoff fate. CIF-SS will release the postseason brackets on Saturday to determine Chino’s division and first-round opponent.
