Ayala vs Redlands 1

Ayala took on Redlands at home last night. They started with a 8 – 0 run and never looked back. By the end of the first quarter the score was 21 8 Ayala. Redlands would trim the lead to 7 to start the 2nd quarter.

That would be the closest Redlands would come to the Bulldogs all night. With Bulldogs 6’3″ senior Austin Awosika  leading all scoring with 28 points. John Edgar a 6’5″ senior contributed 26 points. With Miles Presidents 16 points. That in itself would have been enough to covers the Redland Terriers 62 point total for the night. Izreal Tampubolon a 5’10” sophomore for the Terriers was high score at 18 points but his contribution and passionate play really stood out. His size did not seem to worry him as he time and time again drove, shoot and tangled with a senior heavy, six foot plus fast running Bulldogs team. The game got chippy in the 4th as the frustration showed as no matter Redlands tried they seem to trail by 20 or better most of the night. The final score was 92 to 62 Ayala.

The Bulldogs will have travel to Canyon Country this Friday at 7pm.  They will face  Canyon HS. (The Foothill league #3), as they advanced to the second round in the CIFSS Division 2AA.

Other action Wednesday night in and around the Chino Valley. Diamond Bar Brahmas  boys basketball postseason run came to an end with a loss to Rancho Verde 55 – 44. On the other side of the hill Diamond Ranch will play on. Diamond Ranch defeated South Hills 67 – 54.   The Panthers will need to travel to Santa Clarita Friday to play Golden Valley for the CIFSS Division 3A second round game.

Boys Soccer Wild Card games where also played on Wednesday. Ayala traveled north to play Channel Island but came up short 3 – 1. Damien had better outcome with a 1 nil victory over La Sierra. That will give the Damien Spartans the opportunity to play at Chaffey Friday at 5pm. For a Division 3 first round game.

That’s How I See It
