The Chino Hills Huskies (30-0) steamrolled past the Mater Dei Monarchs (27-4) with a  102-54 final score advancing to the Open Division championship game against Chatsworth Sierra Canyon next Saturday night at 6:30pm at the Honda Center.

Chino Hills took a commanding 33-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back as the Huskies outscored the Monarchs 23-19 in the second and 33-15 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter officials initiated a running clock and the Monarchs outscored the Huskies 14-13.

The last two years Chino Hills has been eliminated from the playoffs at the hands of Mater Dei, but the third time was the charm as Monarchs’ head coach Gary McKnight said his guys looked shell shocked.

Huskies head coach Steve Baik said everything just came together for his team and everything was clicking.

Chino Hills LiAngelo Ball held the honors of being the games overall leading scorer with 34 points said that the team really wanted the win bad after dropping the last two games when these teams met in the playoffs.
