Rancho starting pitcher Edwin Uceta looked sharp going into the sixth inning Friday night in front of a sell-out crowd of more than 4,700 fans on Justin Turner bobblehead night.

After taking a 3-0 lead, a Quakes season-worst five errors allowed Modesto to come back in the game. Leading 3-1 in the sixth, Uceta committed one of four errors in the inning that allowed the Nuts to tie the game 3-3.

Then the Nuts would take the lead in the seventh and score again in the eighth, scoring six, to make it 10-3.

The Quakes (25-17) still remain three games in first place in the Cal League South standings as the Jet Hawks lost to the Rawhide 4-3. Saturday the Quakes will send Gerardo Carrillo (1-2) to start on the mound and the Nuts starting pitcher is Austin Hutchinson (1-5)

Saturday’s game is also Star Wars Fireworks Night presented by Safeco Insurance. Game time is 7:05pm
