Our coverage of the 2019 prep football season has come full circle as the regular season is coming to a close. The first game of the year took place at Ayala High School for the rivalry game between the Chino Hills Huskies.
The Bulldogs already clinching the 2019 Palomares League title came in their win over Bonita. However, Ayala was playing for another big title. Going undefeated, this Bulldogs team would go in the school’s history book as the first to ever accomplish this feat.
Ayala dominated in the game as their first touchdown came in the form of an interception of the Braves opening drive in the game.
The Bulldogs never looked back as they scored 35 unanswered points at halftime and eventually a 42-7 win.
Ayala’s record is 10-0 overall and 5-0 in league play heading into the first round of the CIF-SS Division 6 Football Playoffs. The Bulldogs are the number one seed in the bracket and will host Los Osos. The Grizzles are the At-Large team from the Baseline League.
