The Chino Valley high school baseball scene is abuzz with excitement as the recently released 2024 CIF-Southern Section Baseball Pre-Season polls have placed local teams in the spotlight. The Baseball Committee’s selections have highlighted the prowess of Ayala, Chino Hills, and Chino, with all three schools securing spots in the top ten for their respective divisions.

In Division 2, the Ayala Bulldogs have clinched the fifth position in the pre-season poll. Reflecting on their 2023 performance, the Bulldogs closed the season with an impressive overall record of 15-8, coupled with a league record of 9-1, securing the second spot in the Palomares League. Despite a commendable playoff run, Ayala faced a tough defeat at the hands of La Mirada, with a narrow 4-3 loss marking the end of their journey in the first round.

Meanwhile, in Division 5, the Chino Cowboys have seized the sixth spot in the pre-season poll. Building on their 2023 achievements, the Cowboys soared to second place in the Mt. Baldy League, boasting an overall record of 15-8 and a league record of 11-4. Although their playoff aspirations were met with a 5-3 defeat to El Rancho in the first round, the team’s determination and skill have not gone unnoticed.

Rounding off the Division 5 representation, the Chino Hills Huskies have clinched the tenth position in the pre-season polls. Despite finishing sixth in the Baseline League in the previous season, the Huskies exhibited resilience, concluding with an overall record of 8-16 and a 3-12 league record.

As the high school baseball season gears up for its kickoff on February 10th, the anticipation and enthusiasm among players, coaches, and fans alike are palpable. The stage is set for these talented teams to once again showcase their prowess on the diamond, and all eyes will be on the Chino Valley as the journey unfolds.
