So Mannywood is possibly coming to the I.E. if you believe the words coming from Dodgers Manager Joe Torre. Torre is mentioned in a recent L.A. Times article, (which can be found on the Sportscenetv.net website) to say that Manny would play four games for the Inland Empire 66ers beginning Saturday, June 27th through the 29th. Although, the 66ers official website says that Sunday and Monday’s home games against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are sold out, but there has been no official word that Ramirez is coming to the 66ers for a rehab work. So, just in case if you are not heading to any of the 66ers games, Sportscenetv.net will be there and bring you live twitter updates on the team and Manny, if he should show up. It will be interesting to see how he is welcomed to the I.E. and if he will talk to the media. For some reason, a lot of players who do rehab work in the minors do not like to talk to the media about their injury or performance or road to recovery. I am not sure why. I remember John Lackey of the Angels, when he rehabbed with them last year, we were told that we could talk to him, but no cameras – video or still – would be allowed. Only the guy who had a pad and pen could take notes, but what good does that do for proof that you interviewed Lackey and quoted him correctly? At least on audio or videotape, you could have proof that the guy said what he said. After reading the articles from his New Mexico rehab, it sounds like Manny is rusty and it will be very interesting to see if he can actually get back into the swing of things and be able to make a starting spot in the Dodgers’ line-up on July 3rd. I am not too sure he can, but after all, he is Manny and in Mannywood anything is possible. So, we will be out at the game and looking for Manny.
