At the end of the first quarter, the Colony Titans took a 17-10 lead over the Etiwanda Eagles in the State Preview Classic presented by SB Live Sports.

Coming into the game the Eagles ranked number nine in the CIF Southern Section Division One rankings with the Titans closely behind ranking at number nine.

Leading the charge for the Titans in the first quarter was Denzel Hines with seven points, two baskets from the field and one from the three point line, according to SB Live Score who was tracking all the games played in the State Preview Classic.

However, the slow start for the Eagles didn’t last long. Etiwanda took off in the second quarter led by Jimmy Baker’s eight points and headed into halftime with the 31-28 lead. (Video)

In the third quarter, Etiwanda went ahead 43-36 led by Curtis Williams and Jacob Barcelo each scoring six points in the quarter.

The Titans Jaden Henley led the comeback with nine points in the fourth quarter. Henley’s three-point basket with six minutes remaining in the game brought Colony within one point, as Colony trailed 44-43.

Henley would bring the Titans within one point once more after making two free throw baskets as Colony trailed 53-52 with one-minute remaining in the game.

However, with 30-seconds remaining in the game, Colony’s Kollen Murphy drove through the paint and went up for the layup. But, the ball hit the back of the rim causing the ball to kick out and ending the game with Etiwanda narrowly getting the win 53-52. (Video)
